Fashion Theater: "Catwalks" exhibition in Dusseldorf

Whilst reading WeAr on the train back to Bournemouth I came across the article "Fashion Theather" by Andrea Vogel. It explores the exhibition "Catwalks" in Dusseldorf. I wish I was able to just pop over there and catch it whilst it was on. The images look amazing. The exhibition featured runway shows from a vast array of international designers, some of which are; Dior, Prada, McQueen, Thierry Mugler and even Karl Lagerfeld agreed to present his newest show at the last minute- which also happens to be the most current one.
The show blends performance and art of fashion. The audiences are sent through what is described in WeAr as a "labyrinth of dark rooms in the form of 3D inserts and multimedia installations. The viewers themselves become the modes and as they move through the different catwalks, projectors throw glitter onto the walls and rose petals onto the floor" this sounds incredible!
In the video (link below) a model is wearing a white dress and is posing around mechanic paint sprayers, which blast colour onto the garment- this is a really good concept.
I love the idea of having a theatrical twist to a fashion show. It makes the garments much more beautiful and adds another dimension to them. I think it would be a great concept to create this element in a trend book- perhaps having an interactive one where viewers could drag the swatches onto the garments to see what they would be like and being able to dress the figures themselves? The idea of having atmospheric music would be good too- creating the atmosphere for each different style/ season etc...?
You can watch a video of it and check out some pictures online, see the video here: http://www.nrw-forum.de/index.php?f_articleId=867

I would really recommend researching into this or taking a look at some videos on youtube too- it is really amazing.
